Few weeks ago, a colleague and good friend of mine, Andrew Coates took time to post on his Facebook page that he is not but a 6’2″ 260 lb human being who loves to lift heavy objects.
He is also a lot more than that.
o (Canadian, for example o).
Since I am in a writing slump (and I’m not a Terminator deadlifting Terminator), I thought there was no better way to break out of it than…
ME, ME, ME. IT’S ALL AROUND ME
I grew in a village in Central NY, in the Finger Lakes Region. There is still not a single traffic light. Or fast food chains. Or electricity.
– Just kidding. My hometown (Groton NY) has electricity. It has its own electric company. The station was named after my grandfather He-Man Frank McClear
I graduated from high school in 1995, and was one the few athletes of my hometown who had the chance to play college sports.
I played two seasons at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY where I was named MVP pitcher for the 1996 and 1997 season. I also made 1st team All-Region 1997.
I transferred to Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA in 1997 and was named a Divison II Player to Watch during the 1998 season. I played for two seasons and SPOILER – There were not many MLB teams that wanted a right handed pitcher with a top speed of 87 MPH.
